I took my clubs to Hawaii and it did a great job of protecting my clubs. It's soft but lacks support near the clubheads. If you worry about damage in this aspect, please buy a pole for protection. This duffel bag is much cheaper and really good quality. I'm glad I bought it. You should also consider how often you will actually be traveling with your clubs. If you travel maybe once a year or infrequently, I don't think you need to buy something more expensive if you can't afford it. There was enough room in the bag to leave my golf shoes there when traveling. I love this bag!
