Do not purchase the 12 " extension
The gate is secure when used without the 12 inch extension. The extension doesn't connect very well. Cheap plastic and loose. It swings badly. You'll need to tie 2 foot 1/2 x 1/2 wood dowels to the bottom bar to reinforce it or it won't hold the dog.

Simply insert the extension ends into the security gate and press the mount as directed to add 6 inches, creating a barrier up to 43.6 inches wide. This extension does not work with other gates.
