worked great for me im not too tech savvy but the splitter puts out my audio for tv and music when the tv is off and when i plug it into the tv it lets me use dolby for surround sound so he did everything i needed. In addition, a normal infrared remote control is used for the switch. So if you have a universal programmable remote control, you can easily program it to this remote control. I connected it to my Broadlink RM Pro (universal remote) so it automatically toggles with my Alexa and never fails to toggle (some of my other devices don't work with the remote). The build quality is actually very good. , if I remember correctly it has a metal body, solid construction and looks great. I would buy it again if I needed another one.
