Review on Maui Jim Reading Glasses Sunreader by Sheila Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ho'okipa are polarized sunglasses designed for an active, sporty lifestyle.

This is my fifth Maui Jim sunglass and I still consider Maui Jims to be the best all round sunglass. In response to several criticisms regarding the size of the magnification range, Ho'oikipa frames are designed for outdoor wear and outdoor sports. I plan on wearing them to sit by the pool and read, but that's not what they're designed for. I have used regular bronze Ho'oikipa HCL goggles for cycling and found them very good for that purpose. In the reader version they would help to read my Garmin 810 GPS computer or any electronic screen displaying a map or small text. Living next to the beach, lots of bright sun. I've worn Maui Jim Bronze HCL sunglasses around town, on the beach, and on the boat. In the car, the magnification of the readers was perfect for reading small text on the steering wheel buttons without distorting your view of the dashboard or the road ahead. If you're looking for a pair of sunglasses to wear while reading by the pool, be aware that the oversized portion is smaller than you'd like. But for those of us who want great sunglasses for an active lifestyle, as well as the ability to read fine print without having to change glasses, the Maui Jim Readers glasses are just about ideal.
