I liked the look and size of this unit. The menu opens quickly when switched on. The "Explore" option to see what's connected to media cards and browsing is very good. Unfortunately, in my case, this device is not compatible with my Pioneer audio amplifier with HDMI switch. My satellite receiver, Raspberry Pi 2 with Kodi, and my Revain Firestick ALL go through a Pioneer amp. I was able to get a nice clear picture but there was no sound through the switch. I went into the settings and turned off "Auto detect" for HDMI, had to manually set the resolution to 1080p but the sound came. Also, unfortunately, the audio isn't clear and has some noticeable sonic artifacts. Pronounced "trills" or sound distortions are heard, accompanied by clicks and pops. The sound is unclear. This is unacceptable so I will request a return of the defective item. VIDEO perfect. My special problem is the film AUDIO. The music player plays MP3s flawlessly and I haven't noticed any problems with MUSIC on the audio side. But the Micca-Bacon chipset doesn't play movie sound well over HDMI on my system. I don't use sound over TV and have for many years. I always output sound through a multimedia amplifier and speakers.
