These shoes were amazing. Brought her to Costa Rica. I had a pair of Keen water sports sandals. I used these shoes a lot more than sandals. Mosquitoes bit my feet through the straps of my sandals. They didn't try to bite me that hard in those shoes. The sole is very flexible. You will feel every stone during the walk. I didn't walk in much water but thanks to the mesh and vents my feet didn't sweat at all. The laces are adjustable which is nice. The only downside to this shoe is the outsole. Huge holes all over the floor. All sorts of stones got stuck in the holes. Sometimes the really big rocks got stuck and had to be dug out with a knife. I walked a lot in these boots. I estimate a good 15 miles or more in 7 days. The shoes did not tear and survived. I climbed over volcanic rocks that were very sharp and hot from baking in the sun. I didn't feel the heat from the stones, but I did feel a jolt here and there. If they had smaller holes in the sole and a slightly stiffer outsole that would be a huge improvement.
