Essential for coloring hair. I've always had trouble getting even coverage or just getting the paint to stick. It works like a charm. It also seems to enhance the color a bit. I also have no problem with the paint bleeding a lot onto other items like clothes and towels when using this. It really keeps it to a minimum, which is why I suggest using it every time you color. And you only have to use quite a bit, so don't let the size of the bottles bother you. Another plus for me is that it slows down the progression of fading. I used to have to touch up once a month. Now I can extend it at once every 2-3 months. Red is an annoying color and makes it easier to use in my opinion. Protein fillers are also good for hair.
