Very easy to set up - our dog likes to jump over hurdles. On competition models, the top bar is designed to drop slightly if the dog touches it lightly. This transition strip is attached with clips. You won't be constantly raising the top bars, but that also means your dog can easily get confused if the entire structure topples over. They are lightweight and can tip over if your dog hits the top bar while jumping. I recommend starting low and increasing the height of the jump very gradually to avoid possible injury.
