Most cables I come across either stop working after a while --- or more than likely the head falls off - or breaks - either from accidentally stepping on it or just plain overuse. This cable features a reinforced metal head with a strong/durable construction. If you try to move it won't work. I'm sure the head won't break if something goes wrong with the cable. The case is lightweight but has a protective, durable yet thin, slippery layer of rubber over the cable. It's a great design from every angle --- durable yet lightweight. The lightness is good when you travel with it in a bag.
