Wedream Neck Pain Memory Gel Contour Pillow expands quickly when removed from the plastic bag. It will outgas for at least two days, so I would recommend exposing it to air for at least 3 days before using it. The appearance and workmanship of the pillowcase are good. The pillow is surprisingly heavy. This is my second contoured orthopedic pillow. This is firmer and comparable to a VERY HARD mattress (it's a VERY HARD pillow in my opinion). Since my head barely bulges into the pillow, I experienced additional neck and shoulder pain after using it for a night. Both the short side and the taller side were too high for my neck and shoulders, whether you slept on the taller side on my side or used the shorter side under my neck when I slept on my back. This pillow would have been the perfect size if squeezed during use. Unfortunately, I cannot use this pillow, nor do I recommend it. I have no idea how other reviewers found it to be a soft pillow.
