The seat is very ugly and obviously made of plastic, not wood. And after assembling both stools, I found the second one wobbled - wherever I put it, one leg is noticeably shorter than the others and it wobbles from foot to foot. Also very uncomfortable - hard seat and hard edges so you have to buy pillows at $20 each to keep them tolerable. Now I have to take them both apart and try to put them back in this box to ship back and deliver to the UPS location. Save yourself a lot of trouble.
