Review on πŸ’‘ Adjustable Temperature and Dimmable Recessed Downlight by Brant Skogen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks very good. Plugs directly into the opening of the junction box. Brighter than expected.

I bought these over similar looking competitor products for 3 main reasons: available in 6 packs whereas many competitor products only come in 8/12 packs (I only needed 3), 3 colors to choose from and good value- money money. unit price. Installation is generally pretty easy. Remove the required number of holes from the control box, install NM 3/8" clamps (not included), thread the Romex cable through them and secure with the nuts provided. Then plug in the block It has screw holes to attach it if you want, but most people (myself included) don't bother, then plug in the flashlight, place the spring clips where they fit the hole, and press Put them in. I replaced a few hidden "chest lights" with these, so cutting out the original junction boxes took a bit more work, but once the junction boxes were removed (round 4") I was left with the hole with the perfect one size for you to get a taste of. At least that's how it was in my hallway upstairs. My basement hallway was built by the homeowner and his hole in the junction box was a lot sloppier, so I had to trim a bit to get the hole right. I didn't have to worry about thickness as mine fit into the existing junction box holes, but they are very thin. They'll definitely clean any joists in 1/2" drywall if you need them. They look awesome once mounted! I like the clean, flat look. They were surprisingly bright too. ) CFLs in there that have 800 lumens should. These are significantly brighter at 650 lumens. At first they seemed too bright for the hallway but I've gotten used to it and it feels right now. The only minor complaint I have is between the two in the hallway upstairs, both set at 4000K, one noticeably warmer than the other, however it's not annoying enough to get me in trouble trying to swap out the lights and/or the control box, especially as the upstairs wiring was a bit fiddly, as my builder bolted all the wiring to the ceiling joists so I had very little wiggle room to work in. I didn't give them a star because I would say I'm 95% satisfied n with them and very glad I chose these 4 inch recessed lights and not just flush recessed lights.
