Review on MIAHART 4-Piece Garden Netting Screen Barrier Bird Mesh For Vegetables, Flowers, Fruits & Plants - 6.56FTx9.84FT by Michael Jameson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fine mesh; somewhat delicate; convenience of 4 pieces results in slightly higher price

This pack of garden netting includes 4 pieces that are about 6.5 feet by a little under 10 feet. In contrast to deer netting, which has large holes and fairly sturdy plastic wires in a hashmark pattern, this mesh is fine, with very thin wires and far more of them, leaving tiny holes. This is also far less durable in that it can be stretched and torn pretty easily. However, it’s lightweight, lets the breeze through, and it won’t heat up the plants.I’m using it as a barrier to keep raccoons and opossums away from a pawpaw tree with fruit on it that I don’t want them to get. While these animals could tear through the mesh very easily if they wanted, I’m hoping that it will present enough of a barrier that the animals won’t want to try and tear through it. So far so good, but who knows. It’s primary function is to keep out insects and birds, and I would think it would accomplish those tasks well.A little pricier than some other netting, but this is also in 4 pieces rather than one long piece.

Pros
  • Size: Measuring 6.56ft*9.84ft, it is ideal for protecting the healthy growth of plants
Cons
  • The mesh quality of the product may not be strong enough to withstand the weight of heavier birds and animals, leading to tears and damage over time
