I had just bought a bigger, more expensive bean grinder which I used about three times before I ordered this one. The other one had a hopper that would grind the beans and dispense them into another container. It was a bit messy but what I didn't like about it was that the chute from hopper to container is inaccessible for cleaning. This thing is very neat and very easy to clean. Take off the three parts (grinding cup, lid, overcover), pop them in the dishwasher and you're good. The fact that it is cordless makes it all that much more convenient.
