Safe to use on a gas hob

I would like to start this review off by saying that I never write reviews write I'll make an exception for this teapot. My initial plan was to buy one to brew tea (actually, I brew a plant-based coffee substitute) right on my gas range. There were no reviews to suggest anyone had tried it, although there were several inquiries as to whether it would be safe. The company always replied that it was safe to place the pot directly on the gas burner, so I took a risk and ordered it. When it arrived I was delighted to see that it was perfect in every way, but then I hesitated to use it because it was glass! So I wrote to the company directly and shared my doubts with them. I received an immediate response from their customer service department, who assured me it was indeed safe to use on my hob. Well I'm here to tell you it definitely is! I've used it for several days in a row and the pot is still intact. In addition, it is extremely user-friendly. I pour about 16 ounces of water into the pot (although it takes about 30 ounces), place the filter in the pot, add the herb mix and cover with a lid. The support person advised me to put it on a small to medium stove and not let the flame reach the sides of the pan. I use it on a small burner over about medium heat until it boils, then reduce the flame to very low and then let it simmer for about 20 minutes. I used a small saucepan with a lid; This little pot makes the process a lot easier. It's great to be able to see the drink so I know it's boiling just right. when it's done, it waters well, so I don't scatter it all on the shelves; and tidying up is a pleasure. Also, they have great customer service, which I think is as important as the product itself. So I just wanted to share my experience with anyone who wants to use this product the same way I do but is concerned about its safety; This is the information I would like to know before purchasing.

Pros

Cons
  • Not bad but...
