Bought these specifically for a hard coat to use in the fall to prevent leaf accumulation. It's great for that and I'm happy with the purchase in that regard. The network coverage was a pleasant surprise. We have evergreens that thrive in the warmer months where the mesh version comes in handy for protection from pine needles and pine cones. We ended up removing it from our air conditioner after... I'm not sure the exhaust flow is unrestricted. Our air conditioning service technicians have stressed the importance of maximizing the free flow of air through the coils. Two of them recommended not using the mesh box while the air conditioner is running to avoid restricting airflow. To others, it may seem like the grid blockage outweighs minor air restrictions—or that there are no air restrictions on your air conditioner at all. I would buy again - the materials are good and the topper fits easier than a custom case.
