The benefits are that I get to know how my students will receive our data sets or documents, which helps me understand what information they need from us (or if there's something specific we should be sharing).

Also it gives them an easier way with their files since instead having folders all over your computer you can have one spot where everything resides! You don't realize until after when someone asks "how do i go back" because now its just in front of everyone else who has copies as well so maybe not that much benefit but still great nonetheless :).
