The company sent this to me by mistake. I am a veterinarian with over 35 years experience and have taught internal medicine to board certified veterinarians. This grain free crap is just a marketing scheme for smaller dog food companies trying to steal customers from established pet food suppliers based on absolutely no science. The reasoning behind these companies is that dogs didn't eat grain in the "old" days and we should try to emulate their traditional diet. There are several serious flaws in these statements. First, wild dogs and wolves in the "old days" lived only a few years if they were lucky. They didn't use "traditional diet" like today's dogs do to keep them alive and healthy for 15 years. Second, it's not even true that the wild dog didn't eat grain. When a pack of dogs killed a herbivore, they ripped open its guts and ate the grain the prey had eaten. Also, our modern dogs are genetically engineered from the ancient beasts we speak of. And now we're discovering that dogs on grain-free diets can develop heart problems, ie dilated cardiomyopathy! When feeding grain-free, make it only a small part of your dog's diet, not the entire diet!
