Cable system works very well. This makes them very easy to put on and take off. Don't worry about the rubber tearing. The fit of the dial allows it to be used on sneakers or hiking boots. Great design! I do not like it? Pressing spikes is not very strong. Lost a few after using them twice. They don't perceive lateral movements well, the spikes must be hardened or made of hard metal. It looks like the guy meant for walking uses a better spike but not sure if they can be used in a walker. Replacement cleats are available from the manufacturer but are not listed on Revain. I would suggest buying extra spikes for them when you buy this item.
