This is a great product. The timer is a required function. I used a thermometer to check the temperature settings. My temperature was +-2 degrees. Stainless steel components were a must. I didn't want plastic like other dehydrators. The recipe book helps in finding ideas. You definitely feel that the car is not cheap. The viewing window could be better, but that's not the main disadvantage. I've used this 10 times with no problems. This is the best dehydrator I've ever had. I have used very expensive ones. A disadvantage for people who want to dry a large amount is the small capacity.
