Now for the fun part: steel. The high-carbon steel alloy is machined to a Rockwell hardness of 61. She is very hard! You'll find that honing/polishing (yes, expect that with all new chisels) is slow due to this extreme hardness, but then you end up with a blade that stays sharp for much longer. than average and requires only minor adjustments after cutting a large amount of hardwood. They are a pleasure to use and will become a family heirloom. You really are that good.
