My 3.5 year old loves the watch. We started teaching her to read the time. They measured time, but I didn't compare them to atomic clocks. The only issue we had was the glass and bezel came loose as we walked down the hall after a day's use. I carefully taped it back and fastened it. Also the numbers on the bezel will rub off, my daughter is sensitive so I expect it will take a while but it will happen. Update: 1.5 years later still going strong. The bezel remained after I applied super glue when I first received the watch.
