Direct install and works fine.
The product wiring harness was slightly different from the factory wiring harness, but the part that connects to the Mazda 5 wiring harness was exactly the same. Very easy installation and I was happy to have cold air again. I am glad that the new compressor is not noisy, it cools very well and rotates without problems. Make sure you order new o-rings so you can troubleshoot leaks as you will be taking them apart.
