Safety Tip: Always where thick gloves to better protect your hands from possible cuts.

This is the same Glass Breaker Punch Tool that I was trained with. They do work effectively. I did have step by step instructions and safety precautions before revain changed my answer wording, I was very specific in my first response, this is my re-attempt. First thing's first, you'll want a pair of thick sleeves and gloves (preferably and importantly a pair of Firefighter Safety Gloves)., secondly you'll want (proper training as to how to use this tool). To use this tool be sure that you are using it away from any person's harms way (including patients, bystanders, and fellow Extricators). Only use on proper glass. (vehicles are designed with a safety glass, and this tool is commonly preferred to be used on side windows due to many windshields being laminated, big, and require proper training of removal.) If you are inexperienced, please seek assistance from someone certified in Extraction Training. In order to use this tool (with gloves), place one hand flat vertically in front of the desired hand to push with. And apply the tip of the glass breaker (preferably) in the desired (lower corner) of the window. Note: (It does not take much force) Note: safety glass is designed to uphold shock force in the centers of itself to prevent shattering. If you are unsure how to use this tool, or have never been trained with one, seek assistance from a Trained and Certified Extrication Professional. Keep out of reach of children, and those who are not authorized to use this tool. Be very careful ,cautious, and responsible when using. Thank you.Request to revain: Do not leave out my safety instructions this time. I am very specific on my wording for public safety.

Pros
  • Easy to use works good
Cons
  • Have you tried them in a car window? No bueno.

I keep one in each of our vehicles for an emergency. I would just add a pen holder on it so you can place in your pockets also
