buyers remorce - you get what You pay for

bought this to cut a mountain bike steerer tube , I upgraded my front fork to a new air fork and I needed something to trim off the excess length , this tool struggled with a 1/8 in thick aluminum 1/18 diameter tube and after 20 minutes it finally cut the tube . Then Tried to cut a steel bike seat post down to size , it took 30 minutes to cut that and distressed the tube so bad it is junk ! My 1st clue should have been when the packaging said " for refrigerant tubing "thank God I had a spare…

Pros
  • Item arrived on time and as advertised.
Cons
  • Cutter wheel broke on second pipe I cut

Good for DIY jobs around the house

The reviews that say it doesn't stay on track are right. You have to really dig in and monitor to make sure you're cutting through. That said, it did the job and for not a lot of money. I needed to cut down some metal closet rods, and it worked. I'm happy I didn't get a $100 one because I'm not a professional. I don't use it enough to merit getting one that will last for years. I'm glad I got this one, even though I had to be more vigilant about the blade moving off course.

Pros
  • Works great, simple and efficient
Cons
  • It walks

Works fine for my opinion

This works fine but feels a little flimsy. The deburring cutter is also a little small for 1/2 I’d tubing. But it works and is low priced.

Pros
  • Very compact and easy to use. The blade is sharp and worked great to cut bamboo poles.
Cons
  • The blade may dull quickly after a few uses

Perfect for cutting mountain bike handlebars

Note: I’ve never used one of these before. Works well for cutting mountain bike handlebars. I slightly tightened the cutter on the bar, then used a ruler to find the amount of bar I wanted to cut by measuring to the edge of the blade. Then I tightened the cutter down, after a pass or two checked the cut to make sure it was cutting the right length, then tightened a half turn every time it loosened up until it had cut all the way through the bar. Easy peasy. I also like how small the cutter is…

Pros
  • worked as expected
Cons
  • The product may not be versatile enough for different types of tubing

Excellent Value - my new review

I was expecting a cheap tube cutter. Actually it cuts better than any other tube cutter I've owned. Excellent value! The tool may produce a lot of debris or metal shavings during use!

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • The tool may produce a lot of debris or metal shavings during use

Great for cutting lightsaber polycarbonate blades

I used this on a few custom lightsaber blades and for that job, its excellent. I even used it to cut a Master Replicas force FX blade in half before I threw it out from damage as their basically good for show, not so much for go. I've made a few decorative blade plugs with it too. This is a great little tool to have for anyone who dabbles in the lightsaber scene!

Pros
  • Worked as advertised
Cons
  • Difficult to get precise cuts on certain materials

It works great. good for me

Used this to cut my wife's new handle bars down and it worked flawlessly. As far as long term. Do not know yet. It was purchased just to cut bars down as we upgrade them.

Pros
  • This product work just as good as big name brand.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for complicated cuts or curves

Not for tight repairs

I had to purchase a different pipe cutter. This was larger and more awkward than most leading to botched pipe cuts. I bought a smaller cutter at Lowe's and it was much more effective. This might be ok if you have ample space surrounding your plumbing.

Pros
  • ‎Metal cutting
Cons
  • The reamer may not be durable enough to withstand heavy use

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Doesn’t work properly

It has a tendency to smash thinner pipes like the supply lines for a water heater. And I tried to use it on half inch copper and it walked.

Pros
  • Easy to operste
Cons
  • The tool may not work well on thin-walled tubing

Poor Contstruction in my review

I purchased this tube cutter because I make a lot of my own tools, which happen to have brass ferrules. The cutting wheel itself is aggressively chattered, to the point where the variance of the cutting wheel may actually lose grip on the tube. I guess it's an okay tool for someone who doesn't care about ease of use or craftsmanship, but I wouldn't purchase again.

Pros
  • Item showed up lightning fast and in great shape. Just what I was looking for as well.
Cons
  • The product may break easily under heavy use

Great for golf club shafts

Cut through steel golf club shafts like butter. Great low-cost tool for the job, low cost, quick, easy to use. The tool may strip or deform the tubing while cutting.

Pros
  • Item came as expected and look well made.
Cons
  • The tool may strip or deform the tubing while cutting

Very effective good for me

Work perfectly as described. I was worried that it may not be able to cut my bicycle's seat post tube. But it just worked and very easy to use. Just put the seat post tube in and spin and tighten up the knob. For around 2 mins, it cut the tube flawlessly.

Pros
  • Does great job in cutting steel pipe. Recommend it
Cons
  • These are no good. Do not buy if you're in the commercial side of refrigeration.

Poor design good for me

As other reviewers have mentioned this does not cut straight at all! Unless you are trying to tread your pipe stay away, will be returning.

Pros
  • These cutters cut thin stainless great.
Cons
  • Mine broke within 10 minutes of using it. Cheaper is not always better.

Simple to use, cuts great

I needed to cut some small diameter stainless steel tubing. It really is easy to use and cuts well. I had some 6 mm OD (0.246") tubing with a 1 mm ( 0.039") wall thickness and it had no issues cutting this.

Pros
  • Nice tool I like how it cuts copper tubing
Cons
  • The tool may be noisy during use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't use for stainless steel

I tried to cut a stainless steel tube, OD 8 mm, wall thickness 1 mm. I ruined the blade during my first cut! Good that it came with a replacement blade.

Pros
  • Works great. Easy to use.
Cons
  • The cutter may require a lot of force to cut through certain materials

Solid build, works well, good price

It’s simple to use and cuts pipe quickly. What more can I say? I bought this pipe cutting tool to cut my 1/4” and 3/8” copper line set. The replacement blade and reamer are helpful. Worth mentioning is that the cutter keeps a firm grip on the tube to prevent deformation during the cut. Good stuff

Pros
  • Positively no Problems or issues with this product
Cons
  • The design may not be ergonomic

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good tool, but keep a file handy

This cutter actually does a great job cutting pipe. It seems to damage the pipe more than my other cutter, but it is easier to use. I would strongly recommend keeping a good file handy to clean up the pipe after it's cut. If it could avoid doing this, it would easily be a 5 star product.

Pros
  • Good priceHVAC copper
Cons
  • Broke after 5 minutes of use on a thin pipe.

Tube cutter on my review.

This tube cutter works good. Have used it to cut aluminum and steel pipe several times without issue. Good cut, minimum distortion and deflection. Quick and clean, consistent.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • The reamer may not effectively remove burrs from the cut edge

It cuts so good! for my opinion

Used it to cut the handlebars of my mtb and it cuts the aluminum very easy and a clean clean cut. Very nice tool Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Kinda cheap falls apart sometimes but damn it works good and comes with extra blades
Cons
  • Too expensive for a simple tubing cutter
