I bought these to keep mixed acrylic paint in. They allow me to mix up custom colors or use additives, then store the leftovers for future use or retouching. They are airtight. I tested with plain water and a vigorous shaking first. They passed that test, so I have been using them for the paint and have had no dry-outs yet.My only complaint is a HUGE one - the lids are very easily broken. The ball is fine. However, blowing it up and inserting the plug is not. I never could get the plug in completely so it sticks out from the ball. I know someone else who bought this ball and had the same problem. Possibly I am just not strong enough. However, the vendor was very cooperative and sent me another ball in case it was defective. This thermocouple adapter in the Scanners & Testers category of Measuring & LAYOUT Tools under Tools and Home Improvement proved to be a huge letdown in terms of quality .As a result of using this product, I found that it had difficulty measuring temperature accurately and the connections were consistently loose resulting in error readings.
