I bought this tablet because it was cheap and I needed mobile internet on a decent screen. I never thought I would love my tablet so much and am very happy with this purchase. This tablet is easier to hold than the standard Kindle and is a slightly different size. The screen is taller and slightly narrower than the Kindle, which I actually prefer as it mimics the dimensions of a standard paperback. The speakers are nondescript and located on the back of the device, so don't expect great sound quality. It's not bad, but it's not a strength. There's also only one front-facing camera. The newer model (ME173X) has a rear-facing camera, which I sometimes wish I had. So if you're taking photos, even if it's just looking for QR codes, consider that. For the most part, though, the screen is nice and bright, battery life is great, and touch response is excellent. It's a solid little budget tablet and if you can get it for less than a newer model (like me) it's a great buy. Otherwise, I would recommend upgrading to the ME173X.
