Very disappointing. I have a small tabletop ice maker, but for the 4th of July and 20 guests I wanted to recreate the old-fashioned feel of making a gallon of ice cream in a kid's freezer. Since we no longer make ice cream in bulk on a regular basis, I don't think paying for an expensive brand is justified. The first use was not optimal, but in general there are no complaints, except that the wooden bucket looks cheap. I followed the cleaning instructions and kept it. Five weeks later the weekend company came along and we decided to make ice cream for everyone. I noticed that one of the metal straps around the bucket was loose but thought it was a minor issue. Ice and salt were added to the canister and filled with the ice cream mix. Everything was installed, but the engine did not fit. It slid into the first slot but you couldn't pull it down to snap it in because the bucket was so tight! Someone had to hold the other end throughout the mixing process, which took about 25 minutes, to ensure the motor didn't come off and cause a disaster. Luckily the ice cream is still ready but after a few hours of packing the ice cream was still soft. It was soft the first time too, and I've been making homemade ice cream for over 30 years, so I know how to pack it for setting. I hate giving things back so I'll try to soak the bucket for a few hours before using it next time. I feel like I wasted my money on this case.
