Review on Gopala 6FT (1.8M) Cisco Console Cable - USB to RJ45 Cable with FTDI Chip by Brian Buck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works for Cisco and Ubiquiti.

There are no instructions. Windows is described in other reviews. For MacBook Pro and Ubiquiti I do the following. Connect the cable at both ends. In a terminal window, type: ls /dev/*usb* You will see something like: /dev/cu.usbserial-A97TW2UQ /dev/tty .usbserial-A97TW2UQ Select and copy the filename that contains "tty.usb". . Enter the following command to access the console of the Ubiquiti router, which requires a baud rate of 115200: Type: screen <insert filename here> 115200. It looks something like this: screen /dev/tty. usbserial-A97TW2UQ 115200 press Enter once or twice to get a login popup and login prompt. It works the same for Cisco except the default baud rate is almost always different - 9600 for most I think.
