I bought these to use in both of our bathrooms. As someone who travels for work, I know it's difficult to find your way to the bathroom in an unfamiliar place without tripping over something, tripping your toe, or bumping into a wall. At the same time, I hate turning on the big light because it automatically wakes me up for at least an hour, and I don't like sleeping with the bathroom light on. So I tried to find something for our guest bathroom that would extend the exits and have a night light. As there were two packs, we decided to put one in our master bathroom. These things are great! There's enough light so this girl with terrible eyesight doesn't have to turn on the bathroom light to search the toilet for snakes (yes, that's a real scare), but not enough light to keep us up at night. I like that they don't have any unnecessary outlets. You can still use the top connector and then get three extra. There is a switch on the side that allows you to choose whether you want to turn the lighting function on or off. You can also set it to auto so it turns on when you turn off the light. This is the setup we went with. All that has been said. They are great for kitchens, bathrooms and common areas. As for the bedrooms, I don't think they're perfect. Maybe in a child's room, but there's no point in using the lighting function if you're not using it. Although these are my personal thoughts.
