Durable and beautiful, with enough space!

I purchased the Incase City Collection compact backpack after the strap on my previous backpack broke. I was looking for a bag that is sturdy, not bulky and good looking. This Incase backpack is exactly that! I am a student and I work both on the computer and on paper. I needed a backpack that would fit a 15 inch laptop along with thin folders, binders and notepads. I was hesitant to purchase this version of the City Pack because of its compact size, but I'm glad I chose it because of its size. I can fit two thin binders, a couple folders, two notepads and a small paperback in the main compartment, as well as a small dish pouch (that sits on top of everything else) and an umbrella. in the main compartment where I store small items and loose cords. Some reviewers have mentioned that the mesh section is torn due to binders and notepads getting caught on it. I doubt I'll have this problem since I keep my notebooks in front, closest to the grille. I use Rhodia laptops with side staples that don't have the typical spiral binding. Everything fits easily into the main compartment. The small top compartment fits my iPad Mini perfectly. This compartment and laptop compartment are made of soft/fleecy material to protect scratch sensitive items. I feel comfortable putting my iPad on it without a case or screen protector. I can also put my phone and keys in it. Both the 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro and the 2016 HP Envy x360 15-inch fit easily in the laptop compartment, although the MacBook Pro fits better. A 13 inch laptop fits perfectly and is protected. The front zip compartment has two sections (I didn't realize this was the case until I read the product card that came with it). This compartment is where I keep items that I need quick access to (tissues, hand sanitizer, personal items, fountain pens, etc.). This is the only section that doesn't open very wide. I don't see what's inside. The backpack is quite spacious overall and seems to be designed for a long time. The bag expands a bit when there is a lot in it. The straps feel strong and soft, and the top handle reminds me of a car seat belt. Even with all the stuff I keep in the bag, it doesn't feel heavy, which is most likely due to the support provided by the shoulder straps. The only downside I can think of is the lack of a side pocket for a water bottle or umbrella, but that's not a big deal. This backpack is stylish and functional for its size and price! I'm glad I chose the compact City Collection backpack from Incase.
