I have had excellent results with this accessory. Placing it in an enclosed area like a pantry will give the best results. I have read some of the negative comments so I can understand their complaints. This is a very weak apparatus, causing the inability to maintain a narrow zone of temperature differences. Placing the proofer in line with the forced-ventilation oven/air conditioner results in large fluctuations in internal temperature. The assembly, although quite simple, is fraught with pitfalls. The parts must be assembled precisely, otherwise there will be large fluctuations in the internal temperature. Even the placement of the lid, while quite simple, is very easy to install incorrectly, causing large fluctuations in internal temperature. I experienced all of this in the first few days with the Proofer. After placing the proofer in an enclosed cabinet with no air conditioning/heating vents and assembling the parts very carefully, I set the temperature at 76° and the resulting temperature swing was 75.6°-76.4°. Conclusion: Accurate assembly of parts, distance from ventilation and other drafts, avoid large fluctuations in ambient temperature. One final note: a manufacturer should be ashamed of charging so much money for such a flimsy machine, even though, with careful consideration of the above pitfalls, the proofer works perfectly.
