Google MDF is basically wood particles that have been dried and pressed together under high pressure. It's more like layers of cardboard pressed together, but not too well. I had experience with this once in a rental house. Kitchen cabinets were made from this material, and due to the higher humidity, everything disintegrated over time. However, if it hadn't been damaged I might never have noticed a difference, although I suspect that over time - much longer than the 30 days Revain gives you - it would start to fall apart. Also, as others have said, the color is orange-brown, not dark at all and certainly not cherry red. Looks good just not the color they pictured or advertised.
