. If you bought this (along with a Samsung EVO 960 m.2 drive) expecting it to be able to boot Windows 10 on much older hardware, you might be disappointed. If you just need some extra damn fast storage, that'll probably be pretty cool. Tried to install Windows 10 with a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Rev 1.6 (2010) motherboard and Windows when Windows said it was "may not be bootable" so it won't install. I saw the drive, the BIOS sees it as a bootable expansion card, but there is no joy. I haven't tried Linux, but it might work. In short, check that your hardware supports booting - anything older than a few years, YMMV. I ended up just using it as extra storage for my games and it's 5x faster than a Samsung 850 SATA 3 drive plugged into the SATA 2 ports of a gigabyte board.
