Review on Flex Tape Rubberized Waterproof Inches Painting Supplies & Wall Treatments by Justin Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The strongest band I've ever used. You better pull yourself together before you open the tube!

Ok first let me say this is the MOST tape I've ever used. A few years ago, our son was mistaken for the Sonic Drive-Thru sign and dented (actually cut) the rear passenger-side door. It's old but reliable, so we used black tape first and then Gorilla tape to seal the 15-inch horizontal slot. Both were unlisted for a long time, so I decided to give this product a try for a change. Holy cow, it sticks to everything. Make sure you work together before trying to use it. I thought I had, but my scissors weren't sharp enough to get a nice clean cut and I wasted about 1 foot of material just to smooth it out. Again, it clings very strongly to whatever it touches. After surface prep (removing the old glue) I attempted to glue the 18" piece to my hot black metal door. I had to park in the shade and also use Speed Tac soap spray like chicken when applying the decals. In any case. The first temptation was small, it was cracked and had a few creases, but if I left it alone it would work great. I'm a perfectionist so I decided to remove the first piece of tape and stick a new one on. BAD DECISION. This material is really sticky on contact. I made a mess and it took all my strength to clean it up. With tons of glue on the door and only about 12 inches of tape, I covered up the worst part and then used a can of Goo Gone and some lighter fluid to try and get the glue out. Anyway, for my type of use these things work. I have ordered another 5ft roll and will do my best to keep it light next time.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
