UPDATE I reached out to Pohopa to discuss my issues and see if I missed or did anything to hook up these speakers. They were VERY responsive to my concerns and offered to send me a replacement which I am SO grateful for. A speaker works great and has great sound quality for a bluetooth speaker and the backlight is very nice outdoors. I personally can't wait to get a new speaker, although my neighbors might not like it ;) My husband ordered 2 of these speakers before Christmas 2018 and I received them for Christmas. They were purchased exclusively for our pool and December in Kentucky wasn't a good time to test them. We used it once in early May and again on Memorial Day and at the end of or on the same day one (the extension) stopped working. I know the speaker is working because it says it's paired and when I tried again today to see if it was a bug it still didn't work. Once when I turned it over to see if I missed something, it played music for a short while.
