Review on Prier 630-8500 Wall Hydrant Complete Service Kit: Optimize Performance & Maintain Your Wall Hydrant with Ease! by Bennie Boss

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Adventurer's Bag Poor packaging

The Mansfield prier kit was exactly as advertised. As other reviews have pointed out, the kit is expensive, but it comes with everything you need (other than the stem) for a complete wall hydrant remodel. In my case, the faucet is 30 years old; Finding replacement parts for other plumbing fixtures of all ages is really rare these days. The reason I gave it a moderate rating is because of the packaging and shipping by Adventurer's Bag. When I ordered the products (I ordered 2) they were available through the Adventurers Bag on Revain Prime or at least with free shipping. As of 2-Oct-19, this supplier no longer offers this product at all (630-8500) and only the plumbing supply company offers Non-Prime with $15 shipping to Alaska. Two repair kits arrived in two halves, about the size of a letter. soft manila envelope, almost completely filled (see photo). The polypropylene lids of both packages were dented quite badly, but the glue applied to the back of the box was intact and stapled at each corner. Since the contents were intact (mostly rubber and nylon parts) and "winter is coming", I set about restoring both hydrants. On the second block, midway through work, I found that a couple of the most important washers were missing. Luckily I found both missing parts in the shipping envelope and was able to complete the job. If I had thrown the packaging envelope in the trash yesterday, there would have been a very dissatisfied customer. If Revain's third party service providers cannot reasonably bear the cost of packaging and shipping to ensure the product arrives in good condition and is delivered free of charge, then don't do it. to be in business.
