I bought 3 of these and had high hopes given the reviews. First, if you're not a geek in you, you're probably going to have some issues and get frustrated, just be prepared to spend some time tweaking. I'm a total computer geek and keep two, but I'm returning the one I bought as a gift to my parents. I was able to program it for them but they kept hitting areas on the remote that were causing problems. There should be ways to block certain features. People who don't understand electronics should be banned from anything but "watching TV" or "watching a DVR". All the fine tuning controls on the TV like source, display, controls etc need to have some sort of admin access or something. There may be some features to remove some features as you can set up custom buttons, but all device menus must be disabled or you are asking for trouble. I personally love being able to mimic most of the functions of my other remotes, but it's not for everyone. Keep calm Harmony. So for my parents, I only give the Harmony One "one star". For those of us who love our tech stuff I'll give it 3 stars, for myself I'd like a bit more functionality but I'm happy with what I have. It would also be nice to have more customization options, as well as the ability to download any overrides you've made elsewhere from Harmony One to your PC. If you make changes and download them, you will need to go through the help menu again to set up what you set up earlier. . (Hardware: Verizon FIOS DVR, Samsung UN55C8000 3D TV, Samsung BD-C6900 Blueray and Bose Lifestyle V30). Also, so far I don't see a way to set up a web browsing activity like Pandora or VUDU. Consider this a major downside, but then again, it's only a few days, but it's not a quick install if there's a way. Maybe I can train him with my remote control, but given their popularity today, it's not worth it. Should be part of the wizard setup. In short, much better than other remotes I've tried and there may be some workarounds for problems I've had that weren't obvious. It would be great if you didn't have to teach your nanny how to use 4 remote controls just to watch TV.
