I hooked it up to my 2019 updated MacBook Pro and burned a few CDs from iTunes and they all played fine in several of my cars when I tested them. None of my computers have an optical drive anymore, but this old Sony could burn CDs for a car I recently bought with an old sat nav and no extra input.
