I bought this primarily for baked goods storage that was not a plastic bag. I'm surprised at how well it keeps gluten free bread fresh as it usually goes bad in about 3 days unless you put it in the freezer. I have stored gluten free bread in it for over a week and it has been fine. My only wish is that the cake stand has some kind of protective coating so it doesn't get scratched easily when you cut something on it. Maybe some waterproof tape you could stick on top of that to prevent that from happening.
