This little speaker definitely makes an impression! I noticed that when you put your micro SD card in the port, music plays much louder than the AUX and Bluetooth cable. I use this speaker when I'm doing housework, prospecting for gold and when I'm at work (I'm going to be a bricklayer). I'd say it cancels out 80-90% of background noise, especially when I put the speaker in a bucket to boost the sound. The battery life is amazing! If you turn your music on at 1/2 or 3/4 volume and turn it off when not in use, the speaker will last for days! I left it in my truck for 3 weeks and it would still turn on and play music for 5 or more hours before finally dying. Just knowing that I can clip it to my belt loop and listen to music all day makes me a happy camper. I dropped it off a 3 story building onto plywood and wood paneling to test the impact effect and only had a small scratch or two on the front of the speaker, but it works just as well as it did the day I bought it! I've used it long enough to know that it's definitely waterproof (THIS IS NOT MOCA SAFE! Never submerge electronics in liquid, idiots!). Music in the garage, at work, when you're out with the kids, or anything else that stirs your imagination. Best speaker I've ever bought and I've tried more "premium" speakers than I have fingers and toes. So if I need a new speaker I will definitely buy another one!
