The suction cup worked great on a variety of surfaces from smooth to crinkly we use it most in our rv so we do not have to put nails or screws in the walls.Most recently we also purchased the 3 inch models to put up motion detector lights on the outside of our trailer they worked great.We had one problem with the and the plunger mechanism but the customer service responded quickly and got me out a new one that was great .
