Nice materials. Glass top and stainless steel base (with large holes). Opens and closes fairly easily. The problem is that there are no air holes on the glass surface, so the air gets into the steel basket. This makes it float on my mug or in the air. If you tilt it, some air will come in, but it won't fill up as much as you'd like. Not sure if hot water flows through the tea like it should. I just wanted the big one but had to buy a set. I'll still use it, but I think I'll look for a better big teapot that doesn't trap air (maybe a sphere with holes all around).
