Everything I expected was
I had a lighter monopod that was good for photography but I used it as a walking stick. With a little pressure it shortened, and when the legs were pulled out it fell apart. This one is very strong. Although I don't put a lot of strain on it, it's very useful as a walking stick. The sections are easy to open and close and hold the locks.
