I've bought several of these (hence the low durability rating) but this is my first new design stand so let's start with that. Earlier versions had a stand on the back that tucked into the lid to hold the iPad while watching videos. This newer version now features an Apple-style hinged lid that folds into a triangle to support the iPad. I definitely feel like this was a bad decision. He's just not that strong on his knees. Previous versions also had durability issues. Snapping the plastic parts of the lid into holes or fraying the edges of the lid. It hasn't been long enough to be sure how long it will be. I have a feeling that the edge where the lid meets the base could be a weak point, but it's too early to tell. So why am I giving 5 stars? Three big reasons. First of all, I think the design of the notebook is really good. People notice when I take out my iPad. Second, the landing is excellent. It holds your iPad firmly and the cutouts are no problem. Finally, it has the best Apple Pencil holder I've found. Your pen never falls out and is always at hand. That's exactly what I need.
