Review on Acer V176L 17 Inch LCD Display - 5Hz, Tilt Adjustment - V176L B LCD Monitor by Kevin Ewing

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceptional monitor, unfairly understated by some

Due to the settings this monitor runs in, I am limited to using a monitor with a 5:4 aspect ratio and no larger than 17 inches. In the limited remaining world of such monitors, I found this monitor to have beautiful color and rendering right out of the box. , even before using the auto setup options. I'm a little confused by some of the negative reviews that others have given it for reasons that are frankly not the monitor's fault: CLAIM: NO SOUND. Neither the description of the monitor nor the specifications give anything about the sound. Monitors with audio always indicate the performance of the speakers, e.g. B. "Speakers 2 x 1 W". This monitor is specified with VGA resolution. CLAIM: TOO LIGHT. The specifications state a brightness of 250 nits, which is in line with other high-end monitors. To be honest people pay more to get this kind of brightness. I have sat in front of this monitor in full brightness for days and feel completely comfortable. However, for light-sensitive individuals, I was able to drastically reduce the brightness with just two button presses: MENU -> [Movie icon]. The menu also has a brightness control. CLAIM: BAD INSTRUCTIONS. Like most modern computer hardware, it comes with a guide clearly labeled "Quick Start Guide". This is not an instruction manual. If users need the full manual, a simple online search for "ACER V176L USER MANUAL DOWNLOAD" will lead to the full 28 page user manual. CLAIM: THE BASE IS DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE. I think this is an individual problem. Conclusion: This is a really good monitor that delivers what it promises.
