First off I want to say this project is fun but don't expect to hear anything but horrible noises from it and be careful how many times you turn the crank because the critical element is off very light wood and there are no replacement parts for what I broke (crankshaft). it's not like this. Received today and took 8 hours to assemble. All parts were in stock and everything has held up very well. It even came with wax, resin and strings (probably the worst in the kit). I suggest that before you start you have a variety of nail files, flat and cubic. Sandpaper is included in the kit, but files have proven to be more useful, particularly when shaping, buffing, and buffing the sides. I managed to make the wheel very smooth. Well-illustrated instructions describe each step and help you identify where the pieces are on which numbered board. Details are easily separated from the boards. uGears sets are always good. I had built several others before so I was prepared for the challenge and learned a few things from the previous kits to apply here. You can build this in a day if you have experience with these wood sets. If not, try a few others first. They supply candle wax with their kits, but I prefer a paraffin block like the one used to lubricate the door rails, it feels more slippery. My mantra was "trust the designer" when putting this together. When things didn't go the way I expected, it was because I hadn't paid enough attention to the visual cues in the instructions. It's almost unbelievable that it actually comes together without glue and the gears and keys and the tuning pegs and wheel crank work. I enjoyed putting this puzzle together. The quality is simply excellent, the plywood is high quality (it's definitely not a bolser), the mechanics are ingeniously worked out. Well, I've wanted a barrel organ for so long, but I can't pay 1/8 the price of my car for one. Being a real instrument I was skeptical but still interested because I love building things and I'm a professional musician.
