The unreliable

Used for a week now with 16" MBP and two HD monitors: HP Z27 and HP Z24. I leave the Cable Matters Adapter plugged into my Mac, turning it off at night and back on in the morning. The adapter will drive two monitors at the same time about half the time. Half the time I have to unplug it and plug it back into the USB-C port. I have stopped, Using the USB-A port on the external hard drive dongle because I have to unplug the dongle so often. I also use an ethernet port for 1GB internet but that is also unreliable as it seems to be interfering with my ISP connection. I wish there was a better alternative, but there aren't many buttons for two HD monitors.

Pros
  • Thunderbolt 3 adapter adds Ethernet, USB 3.0 and two DisplayPort monitors over a single Thunderbolt 3 connection; Connect to a computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port with this Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort adapter; Bus-powered Thunderbolt dock does not require a wall charger to function
Cons
  • Slightly dented
