Not sure about the negative reviews but it worked for me. I bought this to take apart 1 2017 15" MacBook Pro and 1 2017 13" MacBook Pro. Not a single screw was damaged and the tip helps a lot. Didn't know the tips were magnetized but that was an amazing bonus. Spudgers aren't very useful to me, but they might be of use to some other people who don't have anything thin enough to slip into the back cover to open the laptop. I only used it yesterday but I don't plan on cleaning my laptops for another year or so. Excellent value for money and performance! Much cheaper than many overpriced alternatives in my opinion.
