I bought this product for my 8 month old so the baby wouldn't be scared of his wood and marble floors so toxicity was my main concern. I spent a lot of time reading every detail of similar products as they have so many sets of foam play mats that look the same. I ruled out thin foam pads without further analysis and concentrated on thicker variants. There were a few that almost sold me out until I clicked for more details on their toxicity levels and certifications. I found outdated reports from 10-15 years ago from Asia with some products from other companies. What I liked about this ubiquitous product is that it shows you what has been tested and the EU standards are much stricter than the US. This has also been relevant since 2015. Toxicity aside, the product is as advertised and seems to work well. I've only been using it for a few days and have just made a solid rug out of it and haven't tried making different shapes. When I removed the packaging there was no strong odor as suggested by some other brands. My only disappointment is that it doesn't match another foam playmat my partner bought from another company. We deliberately chose two different products to see which one we like best. I thought they would all fit together the same way, but they don't. I plan on keeping both anyway as we need to cover our floors. I'll probably be ordering more as well, so for future purchases I'll stick with one brand, maybe this brand.
